Portrait

I liked these 5 photos the best because she actually had a smile on her face as opposed to the others where she just tried too hard to smile.  The top one is my favorite because of the lighting, it's different.  And I think her pose is fun, and her smile is soft, but genuine.  I did environmental shots, and tried to do candid but it didn't work very well. :)

  1. I really like your first picture, even though it's overexposed, it gives it a really nice feel. Photographing someone who tries to hard to smile can be difficult... I think you did a really good job though! :)

  2. Very nice!! You have some really good photos on here. I love your subject! I love how the background is really green, with the mountains. I also like how you used your surroundings to help with your subject. Your photos have really good balance. The only thing I would suggest is to desaturated the background just a little, so that the focus is on your subject more. You did an awesome job this week! I'd say that the last photo is my favorite.

  3. I think the first one is my favorite too. So many elements came together to make that photo unique and different. I really like the different poses and backgrounds you tried and love the idea of posing with the bush in the foreground to give the image some depth.

  4. Your third picture is probably my favorite -- I think you have the main elements for you photo's down as far as setting them up go. The only thing that kind of distracts me is the angle -- some of the shots seem to be shot from "below" the person, and one of them is out of focus. I really love all of the colors though :) you picked a great subject and setting!

  5. I also like the lighting int eh first one. They are all really cool and unique and full of color. One thing to keep in mind, though, (and I sometimes struggle to remember this myself) is that not everyone looks good when photographed from below. It tends to make them look bigger than they actually are. :) Great job!

  6. Thats a goofy looking smile. I like how you used the golden hours to take most of these photos. I have never seen your blog, and personally I really wish I had your camera.
