Andy Goldsworthy Inspired Photograph

My Back Yard

I choice my backyard because I am very familiar with it and it's easy for me to be creative out there.
It is made out of orange flowers and moss.
It was about 8 inches in diameter until it started floating apart.
People can't really interact with it because it's just floating flowers.
I thought having the whole pond in the background would make for a very pleasing picture.
I think this picture feels very peaceful, yet bold.  The flower kind of say, look at me! I'm pretty.  But the background is soft, and the colors are bright but not too vibrant.

Portrait

I liked these 5 photos the best because she actually had a smile on her face as opposed to the others where she just tried too hard to smile.  The top one is my favorite because of the lighting, it's different.  And I think her pose is fun, and her smile is soft, but genuine.  I did environmental shots, and tried to do candid but it didn't work very well. :)

Moped Macro

I chose these 5 images as the best because they had the best lighting, color, texture, and are in focus.  Plus, I liked them the best.  I chose my moped as the subject because the color is fun.  And there were a lot of options for texture with macro photos.

Lanscapes

I chose these five pictures because they had the best lighting and looked the best.  The two with the plants in the foreground have a fun perspective.  The black and white one is cool because of the movement of the birds.  I chose to make the mountains my subject because they are gorgeous.

Night Photos

Nighttime Scene of Nature (Twilight).  I chose to take a picture of this because it's gorgeous.  And I learned that night photography is a lot easier with a tripod.

Nighttime scene of architecture (my house).  I picked this one because it was the only night picture I had of a building.  I love the symmetry =)

Effect of my choosing.  Chose this one because I thought it was really cool.. Looks like the house is falling.. sorta.

(I only had three:-/)

Cubomania Horizon

I chose to edit this picture because even though it is cut up and assembled differently it is still easy to tell that it is an ocean sunset.  I assembled the pieces the way I did by leaving the sun where it is in the original picture then kind of alternating the sky and ocean until I thought the picture looked good.

Light Box

I chose this one because I love the perspective.  And how the lines take your eye to the back of the picture.
I just love the unity in this one.  It is so simple and just has a really simple feel to it.
I like this one a lot because it is so simple, but stands out so much.

Creepy Shadows/Lighting

I thought this one looked like Dracula... sort of.
I like the shadows coming off of they eyelashes.  And the the way all the lines from the light lead to the eye.

 Bears can be creepy right?
This one is my favorite.  I really like emotion it portrays, and the ways the flowers look dead to give it a creepy feeling.
I learned this week that the lighting can effects how a photo feels.  If the light on the subject is softer and bright it will have a nice feeling.  But if there is little light or it is a harsh light on one spot it can give it a dark, creepy feeling.

Composition Photos

1. Rule of Thirds.  The fence is on one third, the girls on the other third, and the horizon is on the top third.
2. Simplicity/ Emphasis. There is nothing to look at but the dog.
 3. Leading Lines.  All the lines lead to the kitten.
 4. Balance
 5. Framing
 6. Avoiding Mergers.  I turned my camera so that a telephone pole (that I cropped out) wasn't sticking out of either of the girls' heads.
 7. Perspective or Point of View.
 8. Harmony
 9. Rhythm/Repetition
