Composition Photos

1. Rule of Thirds.  The fence is on one third, the girls on the other third, and the horizon is on the top third.
2. Simplicity/ Emphasis. There is nothing to look at but the dog.
 3. Leading Lines.  All the lines lead to the kitten.
 4. Balance
 5. Framing
 6. Avoiding Mergers.  I turned my camera so that a telephone pole (that I cropped out) wasn't sticking out of either of the girls' heads.
 7. Perspective or Point of View.
 8. Harmony
 9. Rhythm/Repetition

  1. May I just say AMAZING!(: Lovely work Amber! My favorite is probably the leading lines photo. It is unique and eye catching! Darling kitten too.(:

For a suggestion I would say to work on rule of thirds. It is a fantastic photo(: but i'm a little unsure whether your subject is the fence or the people walking. Play around with rule of thirds for bit, I would love to see what you come up with!

Other than that, lovely photos and a great job!(:

  2. I really like your perspective point of view picture. I struggled trying to think of what perspective is, but that image captures if perfectly! Very unique!

I also noticed that you used a bit of perspective in your rule of thirds picture. Very neat looking!

I also like your leading lines photo. The lines lead you to the kitten easily. There are a lot of lines from different directions pointing at the kitten. You also captured the kitten at a great moment!

I also like your rhythm and harmony picture. I just love what the sun can do for pictures!

I would like to see you experiment more with perspective in your future photos! I enjoyed looking at them!

  3. Amber, you did AWESOME! I just love your leading lines photo -- that kitty is adorable! It actually incorporates framing, as well, which is just awesome :)

Your perspective and point of view photo is awesome, it's so interesting to look at! It keeps your eye moving through to capture all of the details, which is amazing :)

Your rhythm and repetition photo is also awesome... So simple yet so detailed. Perfect!

You may have been going for this look, so if you were good job! But I would love to see you incorporate more color into your photos -- maybe a really bright color that just pops :) The saturation in these makes it look like it's about to rain :) But again, it can be a personal choice!
    Wonderful job!!

  4. Amber I really like how these turned out. I love the lines leading up to the kitten and also how there is a curved line incorporated into that image as well. I LOVE the perspective and the framing photos and how those elements are incorporated.

I like the harmony photo but I think I would have liked it a bit more if the horizon line was straight instead of tilted.
